Jackfruit “Pulled Pork” BBQ Sandwich
Uses unripe green jackfruit
Ingredients
2 cans young green jackfruit (in water or brine)
1 tbsp oil
1 small onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp cumin
1 cup BBQ sauce
Salt & pepper
Buns + coleslaw (optional)
Steps
1. Drain jackfruit and shred pieces with your fingers or a fork.
2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion 3 minutes.
3. Add garlic and spices; cook 1 minute.
4. Add jackfruit and stir to coat.
5. Pour in BBQ sauce, lower heat, and simmer 15–20 minutes until soft and “pulled.”
6. Add salt/pepper if needed.
7. Serve on toasted buns topped with coleslaw.
