Guava Bread Recipe:
Ingredients:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 tsp baking soda
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3/4 cup sugar
– 2 eggs
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 cup mashed ripe guava (about 2-3 guavas)
– 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Mix in the mashed guava until well combined.
6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
7. Fold in the chopped nuts, if using.
8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Allow the guava bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
